EPIC
LOYALIST EX-PRISONERS N. IRELAND CONFLICT |
At each of its 7 centres EPIC operates an open door policy where ex-combatants can call in and informally communicate with others over a cup of coffee, these meetings often facilitate group co-counselling sessions. The Drop-In facility is used daily by families waiting to be transported to the prison to visit their loved ones. Often the 'group' support for the families carries many individual problems to resolution by shared solutions. It is here in the Drop-In where formal meetings and training sessions convene on issues affecting release and reintegration. Application of EPIC's policy of community capacity building finds the Drop-In used by other community groups as a resource for their development. Most notably EPIC's Youth Intervention strategy.
